The seagoing tug of project 733 is intended for towing and berthing operations
in the sea and coastal areas. They are equipped with electric motor, and diesel
generators. Tugs of this project in various modifications served on all fleets
of the USSR and later - the Russian Federation. In total, more than 50 seagoing
tugs, rescue tugs and Coast Guard ships of this type were built for the Navy and
Coast Guard in Leningrad. Seagoing tug MB-51 laid down at the Shipyard
No.370 Petrozavod, Leningrad, commissioned on 30 May 1965. 01 August 1997
the tug was transferred to the Ukrainian Naval Forces with rename to Kovel (hull
