A cable layer is a deep-sea vessel designed and used to lay underwater
cables for telecommunications, electric power transmission, military, or other
purposes. Cable ships are distinguished by large cable sheaves for guiding cable
over bow or stern or both. Cable Layer Setun laid down on 14 May 1980 at
Wartsila, Helsinki, Finland (yard No.435), launched on 29 April 1981, commissioned
