Degaussing ships are intended for special events in order to reduce their
own magnetic fields of warships and vessels. The Bereza class is a series of fleet
degaussing ships built in Poland in 1980s for the Soviet Navy and currently in
service with the Russian Navy. The maximum length of the ship is 70 m,
the maximum width 14 m and draft 4 m. When in standard load, the ship has displacement
about 1,811 tons and 2,096 tons while fully loaded. Endurance of the ships is
30 days during which they can travel the distance about 1,200 nm. Degaussing
Ship SR-137 laid down at Stocznia Polnocna, Gdansk, Poland (yard No.130/13), launched
on 22 March 1988, commissioned on 27 January 1989 and was assigned to the Black
