A firefighting ship is a specialized ship with pumps and nozzles designed for
fighting shoreline and shipboard fires. The firefighting ship of Project 1893
are equipped with 8 fire monitors and some water pumps. Fire ships of this project
served on all fleets of the USSR and later - the Russian Federation. In total,
7 firefighting ships of this type were built for the Navy. Firefighting
ship PDS-123 laid down at the Sredne-Nevskiy Shipyard, Pontonny (yard No.602),
commissioned on 31 August 1970 and was assigned to the Black Sea Fleet Fleet.
31 decemder 1977 the ship was renamed to PZhS-123. Now in service. Specifications |
